Charles University and Warsaw University have been organising bi -annual inter-university conferences for more than fifty years. The 27 th Czech–Polish inter-university conference was held on 6 and 7 October 2022 at Charles University, Faculty of Arts in Prague. The topic of the conference was I – You, We – Them: The Human Individual as a Social Being. Linguistic and literary research presented at the conference focuses on specific themes, primarily dealing with cognitive approaches to the artistic text, such as emotions, body, communication, festive and everyday life, as well as various life stages and social roles. This combination of linguistic and literary research makes the conference somewhat unique in the contemporary context.
